United Airlines plans to add daily flights to Vietnam and Thailand in October, further expanding the network for the American carrier who already has the most services in Asia.
In expansion, United uses an unusual tactic in its network: its Los Angeles and San Francisco planes which are heading to Hong Kong will then go to the two new destinations. Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh service is expected to start on October 26.
On October 25, United plans to add a second non -stop daily flight from San Francisco to Manila, the Philippines, and on December 11, it will be launched without stops from San Francisco in Adélaïde, Australia, which will operate three days a week.
The carrier has added distant destinations not served by its rivals to its routes, such as Nuuk, Greenland and Bilbao, Spain, which start later this year. Obtaining the right mixture is particularly important because carriers seek to develop their lucrative loyalty programs and need attractive destinations to maintain customer spending.
Bangkok, in particular, “is even more on demand given the popularity of” White Lotus “,” Patrick Quayle, main vice-president of the network and the world alliances of United, said the HBO show.
He said the carrier did not plan to cut international routes for his next winter calendar.
