Some Republicans and Magas try to blame Zelenskyy for Trump’s shameful explosion and attack an ally in the oval office, but Senator Chris Murphy explained on X Trump put Zelenskyy and what he was trying to get out.

Maga makes it say that if you watch the whole 50 -minute video, Zelensky is the antagonist. This is not true. At all. I was with Zelensky before this meeting and it is important to know your state of mind.
You cannot erase the context. Trump called Zelensky a corrupt dictator and spread Russian propaganda that Russia has not invaded Ukraine. All these lies are the pretext of Trump to sign an agreement with Russia which tends Ukraine in Putin. Zelensky knows it.
Zelensky – who was cut off from talks – knows what Trump and Putin compare himself. A “ceasefire” without any guarantee for the future security of Ukraine is a trap. Trump’s agreement will force Ukrainian forces to withdraw, and when they do, Putin leaps. It is a configuration.
It is therefore true that the first 40 minutes of the meeting are cordial. But listen to Trump. He keeps repeating that he will impose this false “ceasefire” on Zelensky, without any new weapon in Ukraine, without any security guarantee, without any means of applying it.
Thus, at 40 minutes, Vance presents itself. He seems restless. He says that Trump’s false “ceasefire” is the only way. All that is happening at this stage is that Zelensky poses a simple and calm question to Vance. Zelensky is not rude. And here is the essence of the question:
“Putin has signed many agreements on Ukraine and he has honored none. Are you not worried that Putin violates the terms of this ceasefire?” That’s it. This is the question. And that’s where Vance and Trump explode. The trap has been adjusted and now the ambush begins.
VANCE – Visibly angry – calls Zelensky “disrespectful” for asking his simple question. And then begins to list the Russian discussion points for the weakness of the Ukrainian army how poor Zelensky is. It is Vance who takes a cordial meeting at a hostile meeting.
You have seen the following clips. But the whole meeting is a configuration. By pushing this plan to put Ukraine to Putin (in front of Zelensky!), Trump tries to humiliate or cause Zelensky. But it does neither, and therefore Vance must light the match.
Of course, Zelensky had to argue that Putin will not honor the “ceasefire”. He diplomatically does it with a question in Vance (probably to not directly face Trump on television). And then Vance see his luck. He starts the ambush. Everything was a configuration.
It is important to remember that Trump does not care about Ukraine. Trump does not care about Russia. The only one who cares about Trump is to be able to claim that he ended the war in Ukraine.
Trump sees the easiest way to get what he considers an agreement to give his “friend” Putin what he wants.
The purpose of the whole Zelenskyy meeting at the White House was to intimidate the Ukrainian president to accept an agreement that would have left Ukraine open to Putin and take control of the country.
The configuration has been returned. Zelenskyy held on the groundAnd Trump was humiliated.
As Senator Murphy explained, little in politics are spontaneous, and whoever tries to blame Zelenskyy for the ambush ignores the context and the facts.
