Donald Trump really wants to take $1 billion from American taxpayers to pay for them. his ballroom.

NOTUS note as the White House pressures senators to vote for ballroom money, “the White House pressure campaign is gathering pace before the Senate introduces its budget reconciliation bill as early as next week – even as Republicans work to fix other provisions that left Byrd screwed last night.”
The White House keeps huddling together to try to get Republicans to take a potentially politically suicidal vote to give it a billion dollars for a ballroom that was supposed to be privately financed and contain no taxpayer funding.
Earlier in the week, Senate Majority Leader John Thune told reporters, “20 percent of that will be used to modernize the East Wing. Most of it will be used for other purposes.”
Only 20% of the money that Trump says is for ballroom security will actually be used by the Secret Service to provide ballroom security.
What exactly do taxpayers pay with the remaining 80%?
The other question is what would happen to all the private donations Trump supposedly collected to fund the ballroom. Where would this money go?
The problem is that Republicans realize that voting for Trump’s ballroom will result in a million election ads against them, and they are reluctant to open that door.
