On Tuesday, May 13, 2025 in North Javits in New York, an incredible list of stars talents will praise their links with the narration, Disney and each other while presenting their latest projects for the coming year.

Sincelair Returns “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” To its ABC affiliated distribution stations from Friday, the company said in a press release.

The announcement comes three days after Disney ABC Broadcast Network made the end of evening program after almost a week suspension. Disney had temporarily suspended the late evening show following comments that Kimmel made on the alleged murder of the conservative activist Charlie Kirk and the Maga movement of President Donald Trump.

“Our objective throughout this process has been to ensure that the programming remains exact and engaging for the widest possible public. We take our responsibility seriously as local broadcasters to provide a program that serves the interests of our communities, while honoring our obligations to disseminate the national network programming,” said Sinclair in a declaration on Friday.

“During last week, we received reflected comments from viewers, advertisers and community leaders representing a wide range of prospects,” said Sinclair. “We also attended disturbing acts of violence, in particular the despicable incident of a shooting in an ABC affiliation station in Sacramento. These events underline why the responsible dissemination of questions and why the respectful dialogue between different voices remains so important.”

The owner of the Sentlair broadcasting station, as well as the owner of the station Nexstar media groupSaid earlier this week, they would continue to pre -empt the Kimmel late evening show, which means that it would not be available on local stations for around 20% of the country, while they were evaluating the situation and continuous discussions with Disney.

Kimmel approached the situation – and the current preemptions – during his return show this week.

“We are still on the air in most of the country, except ironically from Washington, DC, where we were pre -empted,” Kimmel said on Tuesday monologue. “After almost 23 years in difficulty, we are suddenly not disseminated in 20% of the country, which is not a situation that we savor.”

Sinclair has around 40 ABC affiliation stations in the United States, including one in Washington, DC Nexstar has around 30 on the markets, including Salt Lake City and New Orleans.

A representative of Nexstar did not immediately respond to the comment. Disney refused to comment.

Sinclair said on Friday that he had proposed measures to “strengthen the responsibility, the comments of the spectators and the community dialogue” in ABC and its affiliates.

“Although ABC and Disney have not yet adopted these measures and that Sinclair respects their right to make these decisions under our network affiliation agreements, we believe that such measures could strengthen trust and responsibility,” he said.

Kimmel’s suspension last week occurred shortly after Nexstar announced that it would not broadcast the program in the light of the host’s comments. Sinclair said shortly after he would also preempt the program.

These announcements followed the comments of the president of the Federal Communications Commission Brendan Carr which suggested ABC affiliation stations could be threatened to lose licenses of broadcasting station concerning the remarks of Kimmel, who came during a performance monologue.

The series of events raised questions about the influence of the Trump administration on the media and the protections of the first amendment.

“Our decision to pre -empt this program was independent of any interaction or government influence,” said Sinclair on Friday. “Freedom of expression offers broadcasters the right to exercise judgment as for the content of their local stations. Although we understand that not everyone will agree with our decisions on programming, it is simply inconsistent to defend freedom of expression while demanding that the broadcasters have specific content to the case.”

Earlier this week, senator Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., Sent a letter to Sinclair pushing to bring “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Back to the air. Sinclair has the SEATTLE ABC affiliation station.
