Ford Expedition a positive point of sales even in the middle of precipitation for electric vehicles

August Ford EV sales up 19.3%

Ford The three -row shipping SUV Rédesin is experiencing explosive growth.

Detroit’s automaker reported on Wednesday that it sold 8,724 expeditions in August, up 53.7% compared to the same era last year and marking its best sales in 21 years. It has sold 61,022 of vehicles so far this year, an increase of 13.1% compared to the same period in 2024.

The expedition surprises Ford sales overall. In total, the August sales of the company increased by 3.9% compared to the same month of last year.

While the expedition only represented about 5% of sales in August, the engine for Ford for decades is large trucks and SUVs.

It also has a traditional internal combustion engine, customers who report are still interested in large gas vehicles, even if sales of electric vehicles have increased this year.

Buyers rushed to buy electric vehicles before the end of a federal tax credit at the end of this month. Ford sees the wave, with sales of electric vehicles of 19.3% in August compared to the same period last year. Wall Street analysts predict that EV sales will drop at the end of the year at the expiration of credits.

Ford’s Crosstown Rival General Motors also praised its sales of electric vehicles for the period, saying that the segment has established a monthly record of all time in August.

Mark Levine, director of Ford of North America Product Communications, admitted that there was a lot of interest with electric vehicles, but said that families were attracted to larger vehicles, such as shipping.

While Ford has a segment of electric vehicles from his company called “model E”, the company was not as enthusiastic as some of its competitors with regard to the electric transition. He canceled the plans for an electric SUV with three rows a year ago and declared at the time that he would hierarch the development of hybrid models.

“We are without synchronization, in the right direction, with our competitors who are now fully loaded with all their electric vehicles, and they will have to commit to them,” said Ford Jim Farley CEO during the last call for the company with analysts at the end of July.

It is also a sign that some consumers are always ready to spend on large vehicles. The most popular shipping models start at around $ 74,000, said Ford on Thursday and can go up from there. Ford said its most popular models are Platinum, Tremor and King Ranch, at the upper end of the range.

The car manufacturer unveiled the latest shipping model in October, and it began to ship the SUV about five months ago. It is assembled in the company’s Kentucky truck plant.

The main rival of Ford in the segment has long been GM, with its vehicles Chevrolet Tahoe, Chevrolet Suburban and GMC Yukon. But new competitors such as the Stellantis Jeep Wagoneer as well as three rows of Kia and Hyundai also arrived on the market.
