San Francisco – Cadillac awaits approximately one in three vehicles that it sells in the United States this year electric models, while the automaker continues to extend its range of electric vehicles despite the more slow than expected adoption of vehicles.

THE General Motors The luxury brand should offer five electric vehicles by the end of this year, including its recently launched IQ and Optiq crossroads. They join the Cadillac Lyriq, which will be followed later in the year by the Crossover with three Vistiq rows and the tailor -made Celestiq car of $ 300,000.

“The momentum is really there,” said Brad Franz, director of marketing at Cadillac, at CNBC. “We are going to take this momentum and we do not launch vehicles to redistribute the company among [internal combustion engines] and EV wallet. It is to develop the company. “”

Cadillac targets electric vehicles to represent between 30% and 35% of its total interior sales in 2025, said Franz. It would be a notable increase of 18% of American sales, or 29,072 vehicles, in 2024.

Electric vehicles represented 8.1% of approximately 16 million vehicles sold last year in the United States, according to Cox Automotive. It was less than 10% of analysts who should start the year.

The increase in additional electric vehicles and expected sales are following Cadillac’s return plans to exclusively offer electric vehicles by 2030. Instead, the company said that the elimination of gas vehicles will be determined by customer demand, but that it would always offer a full range of EV.

Cadillac is one of the many brands to abandon plans to sell electric vehicles exclusively in the coming years, because the adoption of vehicle consumers has not occurred as quickly as expected. There is also a growing concern for sales of electric vehicles in the middle of the lack of federal support from President Donald Trump to vehicles.

“Our EV portfolio will complete our side of the gas power power and bring new customers to the brand,” said Franz at a media event to launch IQ and Optiq climbing. “This is our commitment to choice and offer these customers the choice.”

Last year, American sales of Cadillac increased by 8.8%, led by more than triple sales of the Lyriq, which were put on sale at the end of 2022.

IQ climbing, including a larger “L” version, and Optiq are “tight-hung” vehicles that are important for the car manufacturer, which aims to be the best-selling EV brand in the country. The company does not include Teslawhich is the best-selling EV brand in the United States and has vehicles at prices similar to Cadillac, in its definition of “luxury”.

“Optiq and IQ climbing will speed up very quickly,” said Franz. “We take everything that climbing means today on the market and now offering it as Halo EV that customers will recognize and who have confidence.”

IQ escalation, from around $ 130,000, is the largest all electric SUV offered by any car manufacturer. It should test the large SUV market for electric vehicles, while expanding the most famous and very profitable range of vehicles in Cadillac. The vehicle has design indices similar to the other Cadillac electric vehicles, as well as gas climbing.

The OPTIQ will act as an entry -level EV “Gateway”, from around $ 55,000 – about $ 4,000 less than the largest lyriq. He enters an increasingly competitive electric cross segment, which is currently led by the Lyriq.

OPTIQ will also launch a new partnership with Dolby laboratories For the “Atmos” of the Audio company, a sound technology that initially made its debut for theaters. The system will develop throughout the Cadillac range.

Cadillac expects the Lyriq – produced in Tennessee – continues to be its best -selling EV despite the fact that the OPTIQ is cheaper, said Franz.

The OPTIQ is produced in one of the GM plants in Mexico. Franz refused to comment on how potential prices of 25% are threatened by Trump on Mexico vehicles should have an impact on vehicle sales.
