Cory Booker drops the gavel after Jake Tapper tries to blame Democrats for DHS shutdown

Just when you think the media can’t sink further into its subservience to Donald Trump, Jake Tapper arrives to remind America that no matter how much the Republicans are at fault, the mainstream media will always find a way to blame the Democrats.

Democrats tried five times in 24 hours to approve funding for the Department of Homeland Security, except for ICE and the Border Patrol.

Senate Democrats are ready to bring back the rest of DHS, but won’t defund ICE and Border Patrol without reforms.

CNN’s Jake Tapper attempted to make this position unreasonable on State Of The Union by asking Senator Cory Booker:

So, in terms of the security of our home, there have been a number of attacks, the ISIS-inspired attempted bombing in New York in front of Mamdani’s house, a shooting target in an ROTC classroom at Old Dominion, and so on.

Meanwhile, the Department of Homeland Security is still closed because Senate Democrats are blocking the funding bill due to the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown. Given the security concerns you just expressed and the fact that, honestly, Secretary Noem was fired and Tom Homan succeeded Greg Bovino and Noem in Minnesota, one could argue that the Democrats won the debate.

Isn’t it time for Democrats to reopen and defund DHS?

Democrats should cave and defund ICE and Border Patrol because Kristi Noem was fired and Trump has started a war of choice. At least that’s what Jake Tapper seems to suggest.

Senator Cory Booker (Democrat of New Jersey) was not going to play this game.
