ICE Director Todd Lyons used the House hearing he is participating in to assert that ICE is the real victim of ICE’s campaign of lawless violence across America.

According to CBS News, in his opening statement, Lyons said:

Lyons also condemned public officials’ rhetoric against ICE, saying it has “fomented violence against the dedicated American patriots who defend our homeland, and it must stop.”

“We are facing the deadliest operating environment in the history of our agency,” he told lawmakers.

The real victims here are not the two Americans who died in Minneapolis, but the many, many people who are beaten and mistreated while in detention. The real victims in this story are masked people who are terrorizing American communities.

Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-NJ) had a reality check for Lyon.

Rep. McIver asked, “Do you consider yourself a religious man?”

Lyons replied, “Yes, ma’am.”

McIver continued: “How do you think Judgment Day will work for you with so much blood on your hands? »

Lyons said he was not “going to look into that.”

McIver continued: “Do you think you are going to hell, Mr. Lyons?

After a warning from the president about decorum, McIver said: “I was asking a question. You’re always talking about religion here and the Bible, I mean, it’s normal for me to ask a question, right?”

And it was the exchange of the whole audience.
