Furthermore, even if Democrats were to win back the House and Senate, even in the best-case scenario, they would need dozens of Republican votes in the Senate to convict and remove Trump, which is not going to happen.
Democrats must also gauge how the voters who elected them will respond to focus on fighting Trump on the economy if they pursue a third impeachment. Strategically, it would be better for Democrats to prioritize the economy and affordability, and do everything they can to marginalize Trump’s lame-duck presidency.
