In the video above, I explain why Republicans are doing so much to discredit the No Kings protest. I would be grateful if you gave him a watch.
Three of the six largest protests in U.S. history took place when Donald Trump was president. Two of the six largest occurred in the less than ten months of the second Trump administration. The Hands Off and No Kings protests, which drew 5 million people, should have upset Republicans, but they did not.
Instead, it was the second demonstration against the Kings planned for October 18 that shook the Republicans.
Republican leaders, like Speaker Mike Johnson, attempted to discredit the protest before it took place.

On Wednesday, Johnson said:
I encourage you to watch. We’re calling it the Hate America rally that’s happening on Saturday. Let’s see who shows up for this. I bet you see pro-Hamas supporters. I bet you see Antifa guys. I bet you see the Marxist on full display. People who don’t want to defend the fundamental truths of this republic.
And that’s what we do here every day. And I, we will continue to come out every morning and tell the American people the facts plain and simple because the facts will prevail. The American people here are not stupid. They see what’s happening.
Johnson’s video:
Many people know Research by Erica Chenoweth, a professor of public policy at the Harvard Kennedy School, finds that no regime can withstand the challenge of 3.5 percent of the population.
This is an interesting discovery and very motivating for people organizing an event, but what does it mean in practice?
In real terms, and in terms that House Republicans understand, a protest of this magnitude would be a potential sign of a wave of elections.
