JB Pritzker says that Illinois could create more democratic districts to counter Trump

Gerrymandering is not good for democracy in general, but democrats find themselves in a situation where they potentially adopt practice to be able to win back power to save democracy.

While the new California congress card goes to voters in November, attention turns to Illinois. The state faces a potential invasion of federal police under the pretension of immigration raids, And also the potential need to redraw his Congress card due to Trump’s attempt to compel the 2026 elections.

Governor JB Pritzker was questioned on CBS’s face for the nation if he was redesing on the Congress card in Illinois, and he replied: “This is not something I want to do. This is not something we want to do. But I must say that Donal Census.

Video clip:

We asked the governor: “What could you do much more, as an Illinois democrat?” Your card already gets an F for most good government groups to be Gerrymandered. Do you want to destroy all republican districts? ”

Governor Pritzker said, “Yes. It is possible to have more democratic districts in the state of Illinois and we could do it. As I said, this is not something I want to do.”

JB Pritzker’s tone was correct. No Democratic Governor should want to repeat in the midst of a decade. In California, Governor Gavin Newsom clearly indicated that the redistribution of his state was put forward in response to what Trump and his allies did in Texas.

No democrat should rush happily to redesign the Congress cards in their state, but Trump is desperate to keep the majority of the Republican Chamber, because without it, it becomes a lame duck whose influence immediately decreases.

A democratic takeover of the room would do Trump the only thing he fears the most. Trump would not be relevant. The national attention would turn to the 2028 elections, and the presidency of Trump would be left to die on the vineyard with two years.

If the vote in California succeeds, the Democrats will have already reduced the number of seats that the Republicans could gain in Gerrymandering up to 6-8.

This is the right decision for Prizker to wait and see what Trump has other red states before committing to restarting the cards.

Rising cards is not something that Democrats want to do, but they may need to do so to save democracy.

What do you think of Prizker’s response to the restart of the Illinois congress card? Share your reflections in the comments below.
