The reversal of the Trump Doj on the publication of information on the Jeffrey Epstein affair did not go unnoticed by the Democrats in the Judicial Committee of the Chamber.

The Democrats, led by the ranking member, representative Jamie Raskin (D-MD), wrote to the Attorney General Pam Bondi and demanded that the Ministry of Justice will stop protecting Trump.
The Democratic Judicial Committee wrote:
This administration has repeatedly said that President Trump is “the most transparent and accessible president in American history”. So far, your DoJ has not only failed to keep this promise, but you have also always hidden from American public materials and information that can be damaging to President Trump. Earlier last month, Elon Musk, former principal advisor to President Trump and head of the government’s Ministry of Efficiency, published on his social media website, X, that President Trump “is in Epstein files. This is the real reason why they were not made public. ” His tweet, which has since been deleted, clearly referred to the files related to the investigation into Jeffrey Epstein, the sex offender condemned, in possession of the FBI and the Doj.
During his confirmation audience, the director Patel promised to publish Epstein files, declaring that he “would ensure that the American public knows the total weight of what happened”. In February 2025, you were criticized by the intense public after having published the “first phase” of around 200 pages of Epstein files which consisted largely in already public information. Thereafter, you would have ordered hundreds of FBI agents, many of whom were generally focused on national security issues, to examine Epstein files. The agents who were allocated to this exam would have “timed more than 100 hours of work during the last two-week salary period, including a marathon session last weekend, during which they slept on offices while waiting for new lots of Epstein discs to be treated.”
