The fact that there is a very different standard for Donald Trump that for other presidents is again obvious, because Trump has met moderate republicans of the room in the oval office to try to bring them to support his BBB tax reductions for the rich.
There was only one problem.
According to Notus, Trump did not seem to have an understanding of what was in his own bill:
Trump organized a meeting with a few moderates and some members of the main street caucus on Wednesday, where he listened to the concerns and praised the victories in the legislation, two sources told Notus.
But Trump still does not seem to have a good understanding of what his legislative signature does. According to three sources with direct knowledge of the comments, the president told the Republicans at this meeting that there were three things that Congress should not touch if they wanted to gain elections: Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security.
“But we touch Medicaid in this bill,” a member replied to Trump, according to three sources.
The supposed republican closer and the negotiator does not seem to know what is in the bill he is trying to convince the republicans of the house to put their careers at stake to support.
