The English Premier League brings artificial intelligence to the football field thanks to a new partnership with Microsoft.
The five -year agreement will incorporate Microsoft Copilot AI into the English Premier League application, offering fans access to more than 300,000 articles, 9,000 videos and statistics from the League which dates back to its foundation in 1992.
Future iterations of technology will translate text and audio into a user’s mother tongue and improve premier league digital offers.
The terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.
“This partnership will help us to commit to fans of new ways – from personalized content to real -time match information,” said Richard Masters, English Premier League, in a press release.
The English Premier League is widely considered the most prestigious football organization in the world and is the most watched matches, broadcast in 189 countries and reaching 900 million houses worldwide, according to the League.
“By taking advantage of our Secure Cloud and AI technologies – including the Azure AI Foundry services with Azure Openai, Microsoft 365 Copilot and Dynamics 365 – We will transform the way football is experienced, delivered and managed on and off the field,” said Judson Althoff, Executive Vice -President and Commercial Director of Microsoft, in a press release.
As part of the partnership, Microsoft also becomes the Ligue Cloud Computing partner after another contract with Oracle finished.
The English Premier League season begins on August 15. Before that, fans can watch the Premier League summer series, a tournament of “sympathetic” or exhibition, games, from July 26 to August 3 in the United States, the first games will be held in the Metlife Stadium near New York with Everton against AFC Bournemouth and Manchester United Face West Ham United.
