Spirit Airlines announced Tuesday that it will offer new premium options to its travelers, including a slightly room seats option and a policy of two free checking bags for its card holders.
The new seats will start to be installed in June and take place in the majority of the Spirit fleet by July, according to the company.
Spirit will offer its policy of two free verification bags as collaboration with Bank of America, only offered to travelers with its brand credit card. It will take place later in 2025, said Spirit.
The announcement is the latest development of the budget airline recovery strategy to focus on premium options, wealthy spending expenses. Spirit Airlines – which had transformed the industry by offering inexpensive prices and invoicing a supplement for everything else – left bankruptcy in March after years of loss and failure of the attempts at melting.
Spirit adoption of premium options reflects a broader trend in the air transport industry. United Airlines announced Tuesday that it reveals more important business class sequences, while American airlines said earlier this month, he will start to pilot suites with sliding doors on some of his planes in June.
Southwest AirlinesMeanwhile, travelers shocked in March when he announced that he will end his policy “two Fly Free bags”.
Spirit “adds more value and advantages for our loyalty members at a time when others remove services,” said Rana Ghosh, main vice-president of Spirit Airlines and commercial director, in a press release.
Extra-basal seats will include seven rows near the front of the plane totaling more than 40 seats. The new option will replace the previous “Go Comfy” offer from the airline, which blocked a central seat for passengers who chose this price.
With the seat, which is 32 inch instead of the 28 regular inch, the premium option includes a hand baggage bag, no change or cancellation, priority boarding, reserved aerial bin space, snack and non -alcoholic drinks.
