One of the ways in which Trump and his party have tried to delegitimize and, in the case of NPR and PBS, finance the media which, according to them, are biased against them is to file complaints with the Federal Electoral Commission. Trump filed a FEC complaint accusing the Washington Post of contributions in kind to Kamala Harris, and the Conservatives filed a complaint against NPR who affirmed that the NPR was controlled by the Democratic Party and pleaded for former vice-president Harris in the 2024 elections.
Notus reported:
The Bipartite Federal Electoral Commission unanimously dismissed a complaint of conservative activists who allegedly alleged that the NPR is controlled by the Democratic Party and “clearly and undoubtedly” recommended for the presidential candidate in 2024, Kamala Harris.
Decision 4-0, published on Monday evening, says what the FEC previously established: that NPR is a legitimate press organization exempt from electoral laws governing the political and candidates.
The conservative groups, Trump and the Republicans at the Congress laid the basis of an effort to finance and intestine the NPR. The Doge’s subcommittee led by the Republicans of the Chamber held an audience on NPR and PBS When the Republicans tried to claim that public broadcasters were partisan entities that should not receive public funding.
FEC’s victory is important for NPR because the federal government has verified that NPR is a legitimate press organization that is exempt from electoral laws. While the Republicans are preparing their tax reductions for rich legislation, funding reductions will take the spotlight.
Most of the conversation will concentrate around the GOP effort to empty Medicaid by reducing $ 880 billion, but Trump promises to send legislation to Congress which will take billions of dollars in dollars allocated to the NPR and PBS Congress.
NPR is a public service which is an important part of the free press in the United States.
