Washington – Today, the president and chief executive officer of Radio Free Asia (RFA), Bay Fang decision of the American district court for the District of Columbia to grant a preliminary injunction, forcing the American agency to the world media to pay funds appropriate by the Congress to the RFA. After the cessation of its subsidy by the USAGM, more than three -quarters of the US STR staff were contained and almost all the contracts ended with independent journalists abroad. Fang published the following declaration:
“We welcome the decision that USAGM must continue to finance the FRG, such as the Congress. It is now up to the American agency for the world media to disclose funding from the FRG congress.
“Although we want to take over our operations as they were before, to make it happen, we must receive timely disbursement from our funding on a coherent basis. Until then, RFA unfortunately remains in the same position as last month when we started to use our journalists and our staff. ”
