Representative Jamie Raskin (D-MD) has been fighting to protect American democracy for years. Raskin spoke up after Trump’s call on the dismissal of federal judges who govern against him.
Raskin said in a press release:
Donald Trump loses and loses badly every day in court. He lost before the judges of Bush and the judges of Biden, the Obama judges and the Reagan judges. Trump even lost before the judges he himself appointed on the bench during his first mandate.
Noying in these humiliating legal defeats, but refusing to accept that we are still a nation of laws and not royal edicts, Trump now attacks the judges who maintained the constitution against his anarchance.
Trump actually calls on the judges who oppose him to be dismissed.
He does not call for the dismissal of a judge who reigned in his favor. So his rule is clear: either the rule in favor of Trump or faces dismissal.
We only welcomed 15 federal judges in the history of our country, always for a professional fault such as coherent poisoning on the bench, the plot to take bribes, the escape of income and perjury tax.
