The vote Tuesday evening in the House was the first procedural vote to advance the republican budget bill which contained 2 billions of dollars of expense reductions which would practically interruption Medicaid and food aid, would increase the limit debt and provide 4.5 billions of dollars in tax discounts which would mainly have gone to the rich and companies.

It should have been gently for the republicans of the house, right?

If you thought, you have never seen this group of Républicains de la Chambre en Action.

The signs of problems started when the Republicans on the far right began to growl on the bill containing no reduction in expenditure for the financing of the government which expired on March 14.

The very large red flag came out when the Républicains de la Chambre left a 15 -minute vote open for an hour more while they were trying to collect the votes for the reconciliation bill.

After seeming to have canceled the vote, Johnson made house in session to vote on the budget bill.

The republicans of the house grumbled and dragged their feet all day, but in the end, they were queuing and adopted the bill.

GOP house is now on the support record Evisioning Medicaid, which has an approval rating of more than 75% with Republicans and Democrats.

Jake Sherman from Punchbowl News published on X on the way this night was crazy:

During my 15 years and more of covering the congress, I have never seen the leadership cancel a vote, send the legislators to the house, then suddenly change the course and put the vote. All in the course of about 10 minutes.

None of this is a good sign for the republican capacity of the Chamber to pass anything, and if they had this great fight for a procedural vote, imagine the level of hell that will stand out when ‘They will try to spend a final bill.

Democrats will be in good position to present themselves against each republican of the Chamber which voted for this bill as voting to end Medicaid in order to reduce taxes for the rich.

The republicans of the room sealed their own fate in 2026. Voters have already turned against Trump, and now, with a vote to kill Medicaid, they can probably kiss their thin majority.

There is still a long way to go in this process. Nothing is yet final, but the Républicains de la Chambre have taken a step towards the progress of Trump’s agenda.

The final vote was 217-215. President Mike Johnson won, but the Republicans made a big step towards the loss of the house.

What do you think of the Republicans who adopt their budgetary bill? Share your reflections in the comments below.
