The Trump administration appears to operate on two principles. The administration seems to believe that the American people are not paying attention and are stupid.
Acting AG Todd Blanche confirmed during his congressional testimony that they were not moving forward with the arms fund, but that Trump and his family would still have lifetime immunity from prosecution for tax crimes.

CNBC reported:
The Justice Department will terminate a planned $1.8 billion anti-gun compensation fund that was created to settle a lawsuit filed by President Donald Trump against the Internal Revenue Service, Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche told a House panel Tuesday.
But Trump, his family members and related business entities remain protected from tax audits and enforcement actions related to tax returns filed before his lawsuit was settled out of court last month, Blanche said.
The administration’s behavior is identical to where it promised to release all of Epstein’s files, supported legislation requiring the files to be released, and then released 2% of the files to the public.
The Trump White House has repeated this stunt time and again. There is nothing new about this, and absolutely no reason for the American people and Congress to trust the administration to keep its word this time.
The Democrats are not being fooled and are going to force a vote to kill the whole plot.
