
After the killing of Renee Good by an ICE agent in Minnesota, the Trump administration tried to claim that members of the Trump administration and ICE agents had what it called “absolute immunity.”
Absolute immunity does not exist, even for Donald Trump. The Supreme Court has granted immunity to presidents for official acts performed while in office, but no one else in Trump’s administration or working for a department or agency of his administration has any immunity.

Donald Trump has about three years left in office. His term as president passes from second to second.
At a press conference, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries sent a message to those in the current administration who believe they have absolute immunity.
Jeffries was talking about mastering ICE when he said:
Bring ICE under control so that they actually behave like every other law enforcement agency in the country, instead of operating as if they are above the law in some way, thinking they have absolute immunity. They do not benefit from absolute immunity. The Supreme Court unfortunately granted immunity to only one person, the President of the United States of America.
That’s one of the reasons we’ve seen this extremism constantly unleashed against the American people, but it doesn’t apply to anyone else.
