RFA perspectives – Kim Jong-un of North Korea recently visited Beijing with his daughter, Kim Ju Ae. The South Korea intelligence agency suggests that it could enter the “successor projector”.
Many expected Kim Ju Ae to appear on the emblematic sites of Beijing, similar to the way the son of the president of the Biélorussan Alexandre Lukashenko, Nikolai, appeared in the Military Parade of Chinese Tiananmen 10 years ago.
But that didn’t happen.
During the 54-hour stay of Kim Jong-un, Kim Ju Ae was never seen at official events.
According to the South Korean espionage agency, it has mainly stayed at the Northern Korea Embassy, avoiding public exhibition.
However, the agency thinks that Kim Ju Ae is a probable future leader.
Her visit to China is perceived as part of the signaling of her succession, and she would have acquired enough “revolutionary reputation” to strengthen her position.
At just 12 years old, his official role of succession could still be seven to eight years.
An expert noted that in the closed society and dominated by the men of North Korea, a leading woman would be confronted with unique challenges – but ultimately, the line is more important.
Meanwhile, Kim Jong Un, Kim Yo Jong, was observed during a lunch reception, affirming her presence and demonstrating her continuous prominence.

“I have always believed since we heard news about the daughter of Kim Jong-un, that being a member of this family with the Paektu line would be more important than sex,” said Jean H. Lee, expert in North Korea and presidential presidential president.
“And likewise, if you look at the monarchies of the past in a very. I think that the eras dominated by men, the countries that are a member of this family, whether you are male or woman, have been more important.”
