Actions of Pfizer And Modern Friday after a report according to which the health officials of the Trump administration plan to link Coids vaccines on the death of 25 children.
The Washington Post report said that officials planned to include the complaint in a presentation next week to a key vaccine panel which advises the centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This committee plays an essential role in determining access to the vaccine, as it reviews immunization data and makes recommendations on which is eligible for shots and if insurers should cover them, among other rights.
But the presentation to this panel is not final, reported the post.
“FDA and CDC staff regularly analyze the VAERs and other security surveillance data, and these exams are publicly shared via the established ACIP process,” a spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Social Services said in a press release, referring to the panel, the advisory committee on immunization practices.
“Until it is publicly shared, all of this should be considered pure speculation,” added the spokesperson.
Pfizer’s shares fell by more than 3% on Friday, while Moderna’s shares fell by more than 7%. NovavaxThis creates protein -based plans, slipped more than 4%.
The report comes as the Secretary of Health and Social Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. moves to modify vaccine policy in the United States.
In a statement, Moderna said that the security of her vaccine is “rigorously watched” by the company, the FDA and regulators in more than 90 countries. The Washington Post said that the complaint seems to be based on information submitted to the federal reports on unwanted vaccine events, which monitors the security of approved or authorized shooting by the Food and Drug Administration. Only scientists and public health officials can determine, after an in -depth investigation, whether it is a vaccine caused or contributed to a side effect subject to the system, according to the CDC website.
Last week, FDA commissioner Marty Makary told CNN that the agency is leading an “intense investigation” on the question of whether co -via shooting had caused the children.
