Modern On Thursday, he planned to reduce around 10% of his world enrollment by the end of the year, while sales of fell boost continue to decrease and the company is struggling with uncertainty on the vaccine market.

In a memo to employees, Moderna CEO Stephane Bancel said that the company provided that less than 5,000 workers by the end of the year. Moderna had around 5,800 full -time employees in 18 countries on December 31, 2024, according to its annual report of 2024.

Moderna’s actions fell by more than 20% this year. In May, the company declared sales of vaccines in the first quarter which missed the estimates of Wall Street. Moderna also sails the obstacles of politics under the Secretary of Health and Social Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who has taken measures to modify the guidelines of vaccines and potentially threaten access to fire in the United States

Also in May, Moderna said it would reduce annual operating expenses by around 1.5 billion dollars by 2027. This objective adds to the reductions that the company previously announced.

Moderna will provide another update on her activities when she publishes quarterly results on Friday morning.

In the memo,, Bancel said Moderna has made significant progress towards cuts by reducing research and development, especially since he concludes testing on respiratory products, renegotiates supplier agreements and reduces manufacturing costs.

“All efforts have been made to avoid affecting jobs,” he said. “But today, the remodeling of our operating structure and the alignment of our cost structure with the realities of our business are essential to remain concentrated and financially disciplined, while continuing to invest in our science on the path of 2027.”

He said that “Moderna’s future is brilliant”, noting that he now has three approved products and the potential of up to eight others in the next three years. In May, the Food and Drug Administration approved the third product of Moderna, a new generation boost.

But Bancel said “this decision was not taken lightly.”

“This has an impact on teammates and friends who have devoted themselves to our mission and who helped build Moderna,” he said. “I want to express, on behalf of the entire executive committee and on behalf of the patients you served, our deepest thanks for everything you have contributed.”
