Senator Susan Collins sold her political mark as moderate, but she almost always ends up supporting the positions of Trump and her party. Collins is famous for having issued statements expressing his concerns about the things that Trump said or done, then doing nothing else.

Given this context, it is pleasantly surprising that Collins exceeded concerns and opposed Trump candidate to the director of the FBI, Kash Patel.

Senator Collins said in a press release:

The appointment of Kash Patel to serve as Director of the FBI returns to the Senate in the context of the recent staff actions at the Ministry of Justice, including the resignations of several federal career prosecutors who estimated that they were responsible for Act in a way incompatible with their ethical obligations. In addition, a questionnaire was sent to thousands of FBI employees concerning their involvement in certain surveys. As I said before, these initiatives raise the spectrum that unfavorable measures could be taken against FBI employees – including special agents on the ground – who have devoted their career to the public service and who do not choose their Assignments. It is essential that all efforts to promote FBI responsibility are carefully calibrated and do not have the effect of chasing dedicated officials who ensure our country and our communities in security.

In this context, there is a convincing need for an FBI director who is decidedly apolitical. While Mr. Patel has had 16 years of dedicated public service, his time in the past four years has been characterized by high -level and aggressive political activities. Mr. Patel has made numerous statements politically loaded in his book and elsewhere discrediting the work of the FBI, the very institution he was appointed to direct. These declarations, in conjunction with the questionnaire sent to thousands of FBI employees, questioned Mr. Patel’s ability to advance the mission of the FBI police in a free way of appearance political motivation.

Although I strongly support efforts to ensure that all federal employees assume their responsibilities ethically and in accordance with the law, the recent political profile of Mr. Patel undermines his ability to play the apolitical role of the FBI director.

Therefore, I will vote against his appointment.

There is nothing reprehensible in the declaration of Senator Collins. The FBI and its director should be apolitical. The person who is director of the FBI should also be qualified.

The bar was lowered to such a degree by the candidates at Trump’s office who speak of qualifications that are rarely regarded as a blip on the political radar.

The idea that any republican of the Senate would still vote for the patel After several denunciators, turned out that Patel directed an illegal purge of the FBI because Trump’s candidate is deeply disturbing.

Kash Patel is a political operator from Donald Trump who does not belong anywhere near the FBI.

Hopefully a few other Senate Republicans will join the Democrats to reject Patel.
